Psychology Graduate Program

We are currently taking applications

We are looking for psychology graduates to join our team! Two full time positions are available, commencing February/March 2017.

Benefits of our program include:

  • Mentoring and supervision from experienced psychologists
  • Supervision towards Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Educational & Developmental Psychology
  • Exposure to range of clinical presentations

About our Graduate Program

  • The program runs for up to two years where we will actively help you build your competence as a beginning psychologist through goal setting, ongoing supervision and training. We will assist you with obtaining endorsement as a Clinical or Educational & Developmental Psychologist over this period and eventual use of the title Clinical Psychologist or Educational & Developmental Psychologist.
  • The graduate program involves weekly supervision, regular group supervision, and support with your clients. You will work alongside your mentor/supervisor for the first three months of your probation delivering group and individual psychology services. You will receive supervision from different supervisors so that you develop competencies across clinical and educational psychology fields in order to become a "complete" child psychologist.
  • You will be exposed to various areas of specialization in our practice involving working with children-in-care, being involved in our School-based Intensive Mental Health Program, assessing and diagnosing neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, AD/HD and learning disorders as well as treating common childhood difficulties such as anxiety and behavioural problems.
  • You will consult with clients over four days and receive a flexible fifth day to also engage in supervision and personal learning. As a practice we are conscious not to overload you and will provide you with a reasonable caseload that allows you time to reflect on your cases. You will need to be available to see some clients on a Saturday.

At the end of the graduate program you will be eligible to become a staff clinical psychologist with our practice where you can increase your income, work more flexibly if you wish and become involved in growing our practice.

Graduate Program Eligibility

  • You must be a recent graduate of a Clinical or Educational & Developmental Psychology Master's program (or higher) within the last 12 months OR be about to graduate in 2016/2017
  • Hold full registration as a psychologist or be expected to hold full registration as a psychologist in early 2017
  • Hold Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • Applications will only be accepted from Australian citizens or permanent residents

  • You will be paid under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award (2010) as a Level 2 Psychologist
  • Annual salary package of approximately $56,732 comprising: $51,810 base salary (first year), $4922 (9.5%) superannuation.
