PsychoEducational Assessment TM
This is our standard assessment package that examines the causes of a student's learning difficulties. Areas such as auditory processing, visual processing, general intellectual ability and processing speed are examined. Conditions such as "Dyslexia" and "Dyscalculia" can be evaluated and diagnosed. Detailed teaching recommendations are also provided.
NeuroEducational Evaluation TM
This is a more comprehensive package for learning difficulties comprising a clinical psychological assessment, cognitive testing, academic testing, sensory motor testing and discussion of the report with the parents and/or the school. The emphasis in this package is on examining the central and peripheral nervous systems as they relate to learning. This is a neuropsychological assessment for learning difficulties, which includes a neuropsychological profile. It is useful for detecting subtle learning/processing problems. Emotional and behavioural problems are screened for.

Clinical PsychoEducational Assessment TM
This is our most comprehensive package where emotional/behavioural problems and learning problems are identified and able to be diagnosed. It is a combination of the NeuroEducational EvaluatonTM and Emotional & Behavioural EvaluationTM packages. It comprises a clinical psychological assessment, academic testing, cognitive testing, sensory motor testing, a clinical child interview or related interview, and discussion of the report with parents and/or the school. Includes a neuropsychological profile.
Learning Readiness Assessment TM
This assessment package is for children who are being considered for early entry into a grade or repeating a grade. The emphasis in this package is on determining social maturity using Kolberg’s model of social understanding and Selman’s model of interpersonal understanding. The package comprises a clinical psychological assessment, cognitive assessment, academic and pre-learning skills assessment, and discussion of the report with the parents and/or the school. Emotional and behavioural problems are screened for.
Gifted & Talented Assessment TM
This assessment package is for children suspected of being gifted. The assessment package focuses not just on cognitive abilities, but also other areas such as leadership and creativity not assessed by cognitive tests alone. The package comprises a clinical psychological interview, academic testing, cognitive testing and discussion of the report with the parents and/or the school. Emotional and behavioural problems are screened for. It should be noted that cognitive/academic giftedness can be identified in other assessment packages.
Emotional & Behavioural Evaluation TM
This is a formal evaluation of emotional and/or behavioural problems such as AD/HD and Autism and useful where learning difficulties do not exist but the possibility of ascertainment/verification does. It comprises a clinical psychological assessment, clinical child interview, cognitive testing, sensory motor testing and discussion of the report with the parents and/or the school. Recommendations about management of the child in the school and general environment are made.

Two reasons to select a childpsych psychologist:
- Your psychologist has considerable experience and must continue to demonstrate ongoing professional development in the area of child psychology
- Only a psychologist who is an educational psychology specialist and/or has classroom teaching experience will assess your child for learning difficulties at childpsych. This ensures that the psychologist makes educational recommendations that are realistic for teachers to implement.
