Group Programs

Why Group Programs?

Social Kids helps develop emotional intelligence in boys and girls by encouraging self awareness, awareness of others emotions and social skills.Evaluation of Social Kids has shown improvements in children’s social and emotional functioning. Some benefits include:

  • Improved behavioural self-control

  • Improved control over emotions such as anger, anxiety and moodiness

  • Improved friendship-making skills

  • Improved ability to "read" other people's emotions

  • Improved psychological health


Fee Schedule and Cancellation Policy 

Each program differs in its content and duration. All of our programs require full payment upfront, prior to the commencement date of the program.

 

All of our programs run alongside the school term, hence we will be starting the programs on the first or second week of each term. Below is a breakdown of our group program fees:

  • 4-week program = $440

  • 6-week program = $660

  • 8-week program = $880

($100 per session)

 

Upon registering interest (see below) and securing a spot in a program, our admin staff will be in contact to secure payment for the entire program at that time. Should you cancel your spot in the program 1 week (7 days) before the commencement date of the program, this payment will be held as it is unlikely that this spot will be filled.

Screening Clients and why it Matters

Every client is required to complete the below forms prior to the commencement of the program. Our Conditions of Service (CoS) and intake forms are incredibly valuable in securing your place in the most suitable program. Upon completion, please email to admin@childpsych.net.au

Kids Reading Outdoor

Social Kids

An evidence-based approach to develop emotional literacy and an abundance of social skills over 8 weeks, including:

  • Detecting feelings

  • Listening skills

  • Learning flexible thinking

  • Dealing with disappointment

 

Social Kids is offered to clients aged 8-12 years old

Mother and Child on Beach

Being Me!

Being Me! is a program designed to help teens navigate their way through uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. Designed by childpsych, Being Me! draws on evidence-based practices such as CBT and ACT. Over seven weeks you will work on:

  • Self awareness

  • Emotional literacy

  • Cognitive flexibility

  • Developing positive self-concept

Being Me! is offered to clients aged 13-18 years old

Playing with Toy Vehicles

LEGO Group

An evidence-based approach to working collaboratively with others to design, supply resources and build LEGO structures. This 6 week program aims to promote:

  • Verbal and non-verbal communication

  • Joint attention

  • Collaborative problem solving

 

LEGO groups are being offered to clients aged 7-9 and 9-11 years old

Pinwheel Kids

Mindful Kids

Based on principles from Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), this 4 week program provides skills for:

  • Being aware of the present moment

  • Listening to your bodies signals

  • Understanding emotions for their value

  • Learning to reflect on past experiences

Mindful kids is offered to clients aged 8-12 years old

​

Yoga Group

Mindful Teens

Based on principles from Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), this  4 week program provides skills for:

  • Being aware of the present moment

  • Listening to your bodies signals

  • Understanding emotions for their value

  • Learning to reflect on past experiences

Mindful kids is offered to clients aged 13-16 years old
